China Launched 'china Operating System' (COS) To Break Android And Ios Monopoly

China has always tried to support its
homegrown tech industry and even the
security concerns over U.S. secret surveillance
which gives Chinese Government another
reasons to trust domestic vendors.Many other
countries are also in favor to develop their
own technology industries to reduce their
dependence on U.S.

The Government of China is not too fond of
foreign mobile operating systems and therefore
are trying to break the monopoly of Microsoft,
Apple and Google in the country.
This week at an event in Beijing, China has
unveiled its own Linux-based mobile platform,
dubbed China Operating System (COS),
developed as a joint effort between a company
'Shanghai Liantong', ISCAS (Institute of
Software at the Chinese Academy of Sciences)
and the Chinese Government.
According to COS website, it is designed for
PCs, Smartphones, tablets, TVs, set-top boxes
and other smart appliances. It runs Java
applications, supports HTML5 and can run over
100,000 apps.
At the launch event, the head of the ISCAS
criticized Apple’s iOS for being a closed
ecosystem, Android for its fragmentation
issues, and Windows Phone for its poor
security.
According to the promo video, the China
Operating System (COS) interface and functions
are much like Android, specifically very similar
to HTC’s Sense 5.
However, many Chinese users are criticizing
this operating system on social media sites,
“What does COS stand for? COPY OTHER
SYSTEM?… But it really does look like a fusion
of the Apple, Android, Symbian, and
Blackberry operating system,”

Another user commented, "It’s not open
source because they’re terrified that others
will see that the source code is the same as
Android, and accuse them of cheating the
government out of money,"
Four years back, China once tried to create its
own Linux-based, open mobile operating
system called "OPhone or OMS (Open Mobile
System)", but it was failed to gain popularity
and discontinued after 2011.

Hidden features of Google Chrome

1) Built-in task manager

Everyone knows Ctrl+Alt+Delete brings up Windows task manager. But did you know Google Chrome has its own?

Chrome treats each tab as a separate process so if just one of them starts causing a problem, instead of closing the entire browser, you can just kill the offending tab.

You can access it through Tools > Task Manager or by pressing Shift+Esc.

2) Paste and go/paste and search
Google Chrome has a useful shortcut if you want to copy a URL from another browser which you want to look at in Chrome, or if you want to search a piece of text, for example from a word document.
Instead of doing Ctfl+V and Enter in the address bar, instead you can just right click in the URL bar and choose “Paste and go”, or “Paste and search”, saving you valuable seconds.

3) Pin tab
The Pin tab feature is ideal for those tabs which you never close when browsing, such as email, or Twitter.
The tab you select will be locked to the extreme left, and will be converted to a smaller favicon.

It is ideal if you tend to browse with lots of different tabs open.
Here is how Gmail looks when pinned to the left.

4) iPad interface
Intrigued as to how your favourite sites look on iPad? Well you don’t need an iPad to find out.
Right click on the chrome shortcut on your desktop and select properties. Go to the “Shortcut” tab, and in the “Target” field you will find this text written (where “username” is your windows username): “C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe”
Replace the text with the text below, but make sure you have your own windows username after C: \Users\...

Press OK, and now when you open your Chrome browser for sites which have iPad versions such as Gmail, Twitter and YouTube, it will look as it does on an iPad.

A useful tool if you are considering buying an iPad and want to know what browsing will look like.
5) About:memory
This feature is one of the geekier ones, but Chrome’s “About memory” page – which can be accessed by typing “about:memory” into the address bar – gives details on how different processes in the browser are consuming memory.

6) Generate passwords
This is just one of the many things you can do by delving into Chrome Flags - Google Chrome’s experimental laboratory of new features.
Chrome even warns that you should be careful because “these experiments may bite”. It goes on: “These experimental features may change, break, or disappear at any time.
“We make absolutely no guarantees about what may happen if you turn one of these experiments on, and your browser may even spontaneously combust.”

One of those experimental features includes filling in passwords for you when you open an account creation page. You have to be signed into your Chrome account and have your password manager enabled for this handy shortcut to work.
Simply type “about:flags” into the Chrome address bar and find “Enable Password Generation”.

7) Tab overview
Sadly this one is only available on Mac, but it enables you to view all the tabs you have open in a simple tile display, in a similar way to all your windows on a MacBook desktop.
In “about:flags”, enable tab overview, and then swipe down with three fingers on your trackpad.

8) Stack tabs
Bored of all your tabs squeezing into the top of your screen until they become so small that you struggle to identify them?
This time, for Windows, try stacking your tabs.
Go to “about:flags” as previously, and find “Stacked Tabs”. Once it is enabled, the tabs won’t shrink and will stack on top of each other when space runs out.
9) Incognito mode
Perhaps Incognito mode is not exactly hidden, but it still amazes me how many people do not know about this brilliant feature.
Google says it is “for times when you want to browse in stealth mode” (I will leave you to decide what they might be suggesting), but if you are concerned about privacy and the amount of information collected by Google when you are browsing, incognito mode stops Chrome from storing information about the websites you have visited.
It still has your bookmarks but the sites you visit will not be stored in your browser history.

Amusingly, when you open an incognito window, Google advices you to be wary of “malicious software”, “surveillance by secret agents”, and, best of all, “people standing behind you”.
10) Quick calculations
Google Chrome’s address bar has many uses, including doubling up as a Google search bar.
But if your maths is a bit rusty, it also can be used to make simple calculations. If you want to know 250 divided by 15, simply type in “250/15” into the address bar and it will show you the answer below.

It would also reintroduce the old-style desktop which was ditched in favour of Microsoft’s confusing Metro design

Microsoft is releasing Windows 9 in April 2015 and its codenamed “Threshold.”

How to detect or find keylogger or any spyware in your system

What are keyloggers?
Keyloggers are used in IT organizations to troubleshoot technical problems with computers and business networks. Keyloggers can also be used by a family (or business) to monitor the network usage of people without their direct knowledge. Finally, malicious individuals may use keyloggers on public computers to steal passwords or credit card information.

Keyloggers are sometimes part of malware packages downloaded onto computers without the owners' knowledge. Detecting the presence of a keylogger on a computer can be difficult.

Here is a simple way to detect and remove keylogger

1. Download the Forensic investigation tool OPENFILESVIEW and Install it.

2. Now open openfilesview and you will see a complete list of all processes and temporary files currently being used by your system or PC along with their full path from which they have been running. Here is the snapshot:

3. Now in above snapshot you can clearly identify the keylogger and system files. Check the Program name and then check its corresponding location in full path. Also you can verify with time at which keylogger file has been created.

4. Now we have find the location of Keylogger or spyware. Go to that location and open the File with bintext or any binary debugger and search for @ or ftp in that. This will help you to get the email ID or FTP address at which keylogger is sending logs.
You can also use Wireshark and capture the packets for 20-30 minutes and filter ftp and smtp packets

Application Settings: The Applications screen (Settings -> Applications) has been totally redone, and has become a powerful new tool to both understand and control what your applications are doing with your Internet connections.
The window is scalable. If you stretch it wide, it will show you all of the information on each application in separate columns. If the window is narrower, it will show only the most pertinent information.

Every application running on your system gets a row in the table. That row turns green whenever it actually accesses the Internet. There are several columns of data: Current Usage, Total Usage and Tracked Connections (open sockets).
Each application has an Adapter Setting. Selecting this brings up a dialog that lets you select how Dispatch will handle connections from the application:
Smart Load Balancing (Default) - Uses Dispatch’s intelligent load balancing algorithm
Use Only Adapter - assigns the traffic from the application to the specific adapter
Use Any Adapter Except - Allows you to exclude traffic from a specific adapter while still gaining the benefit of using other adapters for the benefit of load balancing
Round Robin - Ensure that each connection from this application ends up on the next available adapter
Lowest Latency - Use the adapter with the lowest latency at the time the connection is made - please note that this will not ensure that another adapter might have lower latency than the one chosen in the future
Do Not Dispatch - Use Windows Default Network as if Dispatch wasn’t started
Blocked - Do not allow any Internet traffic from this application - useful for controlling Internet usage

Reset Connections: Immediately breaks all of that application’s connections (sockets, etc.). This can be useful with applications such a BitTorrent to force them to reopen the sockets when your internet connections have changed.
Reset Usage: Resets the “Total Usage” number to 0, so that tracking starts over.
