It's no secret that a healthy diet will improve the health and count of men's sperm production, but new research suggests that it's the carrot that has the most favourable impact.
A study out of Harvard University has found that carotenoids found in the root vegetable boosted sperm "motility" which is sperm's swimming ability.
This is because carrots are a high source of vitamin A which is also known to be good for eye health.
It is understood that the body is able to convert carotenoids found in orange and yellow vegetables into cell-boosting antioxidants.
The study also established that veg such as sweet potato and fruits like melon could improve the quality and quantity of sperm, however, carrots are the most impactful, with sperm performance improving by 6.5 to 8 percent
